Scale Service Technicians & Trainees

Job Duties

 

Repair, Maintenance and N.I.S.T. Compliant Calibration of weighing equipment to include but not limited to commercial grade scales, industrial heavy capacity trucks scales, batching and totalizing systems, medical & clinical, agricultural & livestock and cargo & transportation scales, automated meat wrappers and packaging equipment. You will learn how to install, start-up and maintain a variety Systems typically comprised of mechanical, electro-mechanical and fully electronic weighing systems and related monitoring loops. Service to be performed at customer’s site and in Centerscale work shop. Technician will also be responsible for completing required service and diagnostic reports on applied equipment.

 

Pre-Requisites

 

Applicants should be knowledgeable in the field of mechanical & electronic apparatus repairs (i.e., motors, electrical appliances, label printers, process control boards, etc.) and have a background Electronic Theories which enables him/her to Work from Electronic Schematics to locate parts and trace circuits. Electronics Degree in Applied Science preferred (not required but must have strong aptitude for electronics).

 

Additional Requirements

 

  • Must have good command of English language to read, write and communicate with colleagues and customers and have clean, neat, presentable appearance.
  • Must be Fit for Duty. SAFETY is a priority as majority of service are performed in industrial settings. Mental clarity and alertness is required at all times.
  • Must be able to lift & move about with 50 lb. test weights (50 lb. each hand for even safe loading is recommended).
  • Must own and maintain a set of general mechanics tools with multi-meter. Please consult trainer for specific type of meter.
  • Must own and wear Steel-toe shoes on a DAILY basis. Must have personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, safety vests, knee pads, and other PPE as needed.
  • Must have Valid Hawaii Driver’s License to operate company vehicles. Provide clean driving abstract, if requested. If you are a CDL Driver, you must pass the DOT Physical and Drug Test, as needed.
  • Job requires frequent inter-isle travel for single and multi-day trips. Periodical travel to other areas may be required for training and out of state jobs. The ability to travel without hindrance is required.
  • We will train you but you must be able to pass the following: Scale Technician Certification exam with State of Hawaii, Measurement Standards Branch; and Pass All Security Clearances, Historical Background Checks, and Drug Tests as required by Vendors & Contractors as needed.
